Work is the main outlet of self expression in our lives. Yet, with work we ask questions of money, title, organization, climbing the corporate ladder. External validations. We are not encouraged to find validation in ourselves, to find work that will reward us with the greatest sense of meaning.
We developed POP to combine personal development with career development to address this schism. We want you to look beyond your resume strengths when deciding your work life; we want your work to emerge as the most authentic expression of yourself.
We think this is only for the dreamers and the artists. We think those questions are for everyone.
Drawn from over thirty years of work with educators, executives, entrepreneurs, CEO’s, and government officials, we help participants ideate and execute their vision of purpose-driven work.
While the relevance of hard skills can shift with market needs, social & emotional skills — adaptability, collaboration, creativity, and more — evolve with us. Pedagogy of Purpose was developed by a group of imperfect humans who harnessed their skills in service of the work they always wanted.
Our hybrid methodology integrates leadership studies, critical theory, and positive psychology to develop an entrepreneurial mindset.
We believe that by building from purpose, our personal and professional lives become more confident, sustainable, resilient, joyous, and adaptable to change.
The Pedagogy Of Purpose Method:
1- Uncover Purpose
Develop self-awareness to identify hidden values and beliefs. Understand how they drive your decision making process - consciously and unconsciously. Gain clarity on your motivations, directions, and next steps. Find your purpose.
2- Express Yourself
Develop self-acceptance. Connect to (and act on) your purpose. Practice honesty and accountability to show up authentically. Gain clarity on your direction. Build effective and focused energy in service of your deepest values.
3- Add Value
Leverage your talents to enrich the lives of others. Add value to both yourself and community. Prioritize what you value most and act on it. Use self-management to build a vision that serves your purpose and enriches those around you.
4- Own Your Path
Develop a self-growth mindset and ignite your curiosity. Consistently focus on purpose-driven outcomes. Build systems and leverage your skillset in service of your passion. Scale your values to create a positive impact.
What the Path Feels Like
This Pedagogy is a constant process of reflection, improvement, and development. Rather than ending suddenly, you continue to strive to continuously improve yourself, and develop a plan to keep you accountable so you can continue to grow.
You know who you are and Acknowledge Your Worth, and you can execute value exchange as an entrepreneur or in your career development. Most importantly you know your uniqueness without comparing yourself to others. Comparison is the thief of joy. You are honest with yourself, but it isn’t about self-criticism. It’s about recognizing what you are doing, what is and isn’t working, and how you can make positive changes.
